Issue I; Dec 3, 2011

I am sure many of us are working towards the completion of some wonderful holiday gifts, whether ornaments or quilts we have a deadline.  Sometimes in an effort to finish quickly an injury might happen and if it does here is a solution for any blood you might spill on your project.

If you happen; as I have done before; to snip, prick, or sew your finger and blood gets on your fabric you have the solution closer than you might think.

If the blood is still wet you can use a bit of your own saliva to dissolve it and then dab the fabric with a bit of cold water to to get the rest out.  It is important to use your own saliva to clean your own blood; its our enzimes at work!

Another option is a little hydrogen peroxide on a cotton swab followed by dabbing with cold water.

If you plan to wash the fabric because a little blood remains treat it with a stain remover first.
